season will be that the start of the season P5 slate are like preseason exhibitions. If BYU shows well (crosses the 50 a lot on offense) and doesn't have significant injuries, i'll be happy going into the regular season (Starts with USU ends with NM State).  If we win 4 or 5 games in the "regular season" we should have a chance at bowl eligibility when we play yewtah the last game. This part, UU and the bowl game, are our playoffs. Yes these expectations are lower than they've ever been for me, but after last season, my blue goggles are going to be blinders except for what I see on the field. I'm excited to see what happens, but the news and faux-hype leading up to the actual games is not interesting to me this year.
