ambassadors for the school can be pretty valuable. Look at Derwin Gray. The guy's a really good man, not LDS, but has chosen to find common ground with us, rather than dwell on differences, and to be a part of the BYU community. But it isn't simply about guys like that being part of our community, but about us taking steps to become part of their communities as well. Having a non-lds coach, who buys into and finds common ground with the school's mission, could only be a plus in my mind.
