I have mixed feelings.
I don’t think it was “fair” but I think it was smart. Obviously BYU is a much bigger threat for recruits and market share than CU, so hurting your rival in the process is smart business. But I’m conflicted as an LDS person in his current environment because I hate the idea that BYU is kept out because of religious bigotry. Not that this bigotry originated from Hill but from the pac 12. It’s almost like you and your best buddy get invited to the country club and then at the last minute they say, “sorry no Jews,” so your friend isn’t allowed in. It’s nice to be invited still but you do feel bad ditching out on your friend for such unfair reasons.
