Bingham
American Fork
Lone Peak
Pleasant Grove
Westlake

Obviously it is a loaded region so it's gonna be tough. I would imagine when the pre-season prognostications come out they'll mostly have Lone Peak second and AF third but they don't know it as well as I do and they are mostly basing it off of previous years of varsity and not necessarily this particular class.

This particular group of AF sr's have always dominated LP growing up. Granted it is slightly different because in youth football they divide the teams up differently but even at the sophomore and JV levels these guys have beaten LP so I see no reason it should be any different this season.

In my opinion the difference between AF and LP this year is actually my son so hopefully he stays healthy. He's never lost to them at any age he has a lot of confidence. LP should have a really good defense and two good RB's, they'll be good like they always are.

Bingham of course is an entirely different matter and since this is only the second year they'll be in our region it is hard to say how it matches up because I haven't been able to see their JV teams and their kids growing up. But like most people I'll just base it off of the recent past and they've dominated the state so until someone can knock them off you've got to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Pleasant Grove is a dark horse IMO, and in any other region would probably be #1 or #2. They have a really good QB in Jake Jensen, we've been playing against that kid since 2nd grade, and a good group of athletes around him. I think they are the 4th best team in region 4 but it wouldn't shock me if they finish anywhere from 2nd to 4th, definitely in the playoffs.

West Lake is in a tough spot. If they played in any other region they'd be a playoff team, but they have to play their region games against 3-4 of the top 5 teams in the state. I think they'll surprise some teams out of region but I don't think they can match up with the other 4 teams in region 4, those 4 teams might be the top 4 6A teams in the state, although East and Herriman deserve some respect as well.
