Since all y’all are citing your unnamed sources about the state of BYU football...I’ll chime in with mine.
Last year was a wake-up call for everyone. Kalani took it personal (as he should) and has been working his tail off to fix it. His focus, determination and increased discipline is very obvious to everyone around him. He’s not letting guys off and there is a sense of urgency around the program right now to get this right. Additionally, leaders are stepping up on the team. Tanner is down 20+ pounds and earning the respect of his teammates (something he didn’t fully have last year). Micah Simon is challenging every receiver put in the work this offseason. This will not be a bottom 10 D1 offense like we saw last year. The players are embarrassed and motiviated more than any us really understand to erase 2017.
Now, don’t get me wrong, BYU isn’t going to a NY6 bowl. This isn't a 10 win team or even an 8 win team. 2018 will still be a grind with several front-loaded losses. But, the play will be significatly better than the dumpster fire we saw a year ago. These guys will battle and compete every game.
