That’s a very hard stance to take considering byu was mentioned as the top target by ESPN and other
national writers while tcu and WVU weren’t even mentioned in the conversation.
It was ND, Pitt/BYU/Louisville, and a few random mentions of other schools along the way. TCU and West Virginia came out of no where so to say all the confirmed sightings of Big 12 officials in Provo, ESPN stating byu was the top target for the big 12 and other examples means “they were never close”.... I suppose if you’re definition of close was pen in hand then yeah you could be right. But if you’re implying discussions weren’t being had than you either don’t know what you’re talking about or you’re willfully peddling the byu AD company line out of fear of backlash.
