Ironically, perhaps his classiness and likeability was his undoing as a coach
I'm no expert in what it takes to be a good coach but in most cases, the most successful coaches are the ones who connect well with players but they are super competitive to the point that they will sometimes be a jerk to their players and fellow coaches. Ty himself seems to admit some interviews that he regrets not putting his foot down more and fight for things. In hindsight, I do wish he would've confronted Kalani when he throwing the offense under the bus week after week and said something like, "Hey knock it off! You are the Head Coach of this team. Act like it!"
