It's hard to believe the two most adored franchises in Star Wars and
Indiana Jones were so awful in their attempts to bring back original characters. It really is too bad. So much lost potential. Indy was shocking in the sense that Spielberg did it, after he so much success with Sean Connery being older. Star Wars less shocking since Disney took over.

But tell me this. Could you have written worse plot lines if you tried? Like if you and a buddy sat around and tried to destroy each character intentionally? Like writing that Han and Leia have a kid that's so evil he turns into Darth Vader and stabs Han Solo to death? This is after Han and Leia divorce. Inspiring stuff right there. Or that Leia floats around space like Mary Poppins using the force after her son blows up her ship? Or Luke turns into a complete Jerk wad who throws lightsabers over his shoulder when people need help in the galaxy? The same guy who was full of such hope that he turned Darth Vader good.

And whatever we do, let's not re-unite them, no, let's just bring them back but not give the audience the pleasure of seeing them all together in the Falcon one last time. Let's just milk the audience dollars by revealing them one film at a time, while killing them off.

Who writes this stuff? Even worse, who signs off on it?

I mean all any of us wanted to see was Luke, Han, chewy and Liea, fly the Falcon one last time and banter back and forth. Be the good guys, fight some bad guys, save the day, and move on. We didn't need some dark, complex, story that ends with Han getting stabbed to death by his own son? Luke so uninterested that he can't get his butt of the island to help a young girl in need.

It's not rocket science.
