They couldn’t figure out how to build on the storyline they already had going for them. How did it go from the rebellion winning the war to the first order ruling the galaxy, then from first orders huge Death Star planet being destroyed to them still being in charge and the resistance being 3 cruisers, a dozen tie fighters, a half dozen bombers and 40 people?

Just didn’t make sense at all.
