Does anybody at the DMV have at least half a brain?
My teenage daughter's license is about to expire. The problem is that it will expire right after she moves away to college.

So we head down the to the local DMV to renew it a couple months before it expires. Well, they want 2 forms of identification (the current license doesn't count) and proof of residency. For some stupid reason they wouldn't accept a recent passport as proof of identification but for some reason accepted her high school student ID. We were still at a loss for a second form of ID.

Then the residency issue came up. They asked us to provide a utility bill or mortgage bill in her name. We had to explain over and over that she is teenager living at home and there is absolutely nothing like that in her name. We showed them our bills but that didn't suffice.

To resolve the situation we had to call their supervisors in Boise (on our cell phones) and get them to think reasonably. So they tried to issue her a new license but then explained that is would expire in couple months on her birthday. At this point we wanted to scream bloody murder. So we called the state DMV again and got them to renew the license for the normal time period.
