If this was all just a miscommunication on Kawhi's part that he was actually still hurt and couldn't play, then everything would have been fine. San Antonio was willing to invest over $200 million in him. The last thing they want is to spend a guaranteed Supermax contract on damaged goods for FIVE years. No, they were fine with him and were willing to work with him.

Kawhi's camp wanted him out of San Antonio and used the injury as an excuse because they wanted Kawhi in LA. Simple as that. Otherwise, all the miscommunication and confusion could have easily been cleared up with the organization, his teammates and the media.
