I've been pulling for Mangum, but I'm officially onboard the Wilson train now.

We know what we get from Mangum...we've seen if for 2 years now (plus a snap to kill the clock in the MSU game...strange call to waste an entire year).  Basically eradic play, mixed in with a couple miracle throws.  With Mangum we will be teetering on a 6-6 season if we're lucky.

I say we give the new kid a chance.  He may be something special, so let's see what he can do. It's not like we're playing LSU the first game of the season and we're sending him out to get eaten by the wolves (or tigers).  Arizona is a formidable opponent, but they're defense is not SEC level.  If Wilson really is a special talent, that's not a bad first opponent to get your feet wet. I say let him loose and see what we have.  It's a big risk, but I'd rather take that risk with hopes of a special season (knowning it might not turn out well) rather than playing it safe and settling for a 5-7 or 6-6 season.  In addition, it gives him all the more preparation for the future.

I wonder what CB would have said about Steve Young, in fall camp before the 1983 season? (Indy Coug, Aug 9, 2018 at 9:04am)
