I'm born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I was working in the TeleCenter at the MTC after my mission. It was my job to train the missionaries on how to use the phones/computers and what to say. This is in the mid-90s, so they were calling people who had seen a church commercial and ordered a video or the Book of Mormon to follow up with them and see if they were interested in meeting with the missionaries.
After a week or so, each group would all have the hang of it and really didn't need my help, so I would sometimes jump on a phone and make a few phone calls myself. The computer screen pulled up a lady named Charolette from Mississippi.
Woman: [in a thick Southern accent] "Heeello"
Me: "Yes, is Charlotte there?"
Woman: "Who?"
Me: "Charlotte."
Woman: "Hold on." [yells at the top of her lungs] "Charlotte!"
Charlotte: [replies at the top of her lungs in a thick Southern accent] "Whaaaat?"
Woman: "Telephone! It's for YOU!"
Charlotte: "Well, who is it!?"
Woman: "I don't know, but whoever it is, he's got a baaaad accent!"
