Does the other team get points for potential turnovers?

Just like should the QB get credit for a TD when the WR ran the wrong route.

Fact is scoring points is what wins games, and yes turnovers can cost games. But we could go with potential either way. Why do you think the top QB’s always have near misses in turnovers. Well they threw the ball in the right spot.
