Ladytron: Destroy Everything You Touch (2005)
Perhaps not obscure (although it's not like they're CHVRCHES), but Ladytron has done a lot to restore my hope for synth and electronic in the new millenium, starting with "Destroy Everything You Touch", but not forgetting the creepy "Seventeen", the rough-cut gem "Discotraxx", or the sleeker "Runaway". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTTwlAT_AwU
Neighbors: Long Time Gone (2014)
Noah Stitelman must spend every waking moment policing YouTube to make sure nobody posts anything unofficial there. I'd rather he spend that time making more songs like this. https://vimeo.com/97132695
Goldfrapp: Number 1 (2005)
If Fad Gadget took the cake for weird videos last week, Goldfrapp reinvents the recipe this week. Which isn't surprising, this being Goldfrapp. They've (it's still a duo, right?) gone through a lot of transformations, but for me "Tiptoe" and "Crystalline Green" remain at the top of their synth numbers, alhtough I'm glad to see them return to synth in their most recent album with songs like "Anymore". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzfaJRDfveo
Bonus! Book of Love: Something Good (2016)
Book of Love proves that you don't necessarily have to update your sound to make something good.
