Dr Jordan Peterson on raising children. Attention is currency for a child
-Children thrive on attention. Its currency for them. Don't ignore bad behavior - confront it. Make sure you pay attention with good behavior and acknowledge by telling them why its good. This will help the child push his or herself to responsible maturity and avoid the negative attention. Also, everyone gets a trophy is bad for child development because it creates mediocrity. Watch your child and show them the value of good behaviour with your attention.

-Don't let your child do things that make YOU dislike them. Because the odds are that bad behavior makes them less sociable and harder to make friends. This sends them down a path of isolationism.

-Teach them to respect adults. Children see what their future is. If they don't respect adults (their future) it creates not only behavioral issues for the law but it also makes them not want to grow up.
