BYU coach Kalani Sitake says he didn’t see much separation between the two QBs in the last scrimmage. Tanner Mangum took first snaps during media portion today
Kalani Sitake mentioned DB Trevion Green and Johnny "Kuj" Tapusoa are "possibly out for the long term." Coaches don't mention specific injuries, but he said the two got injured during non-contact drills in practice. #BYU
RB Beau Hoge is also "going through some stuff, injury-wise," but Sitake expects him to be 100 percent by Sept. 1 at Arizona. Hoge appeared to be live but limited during the media-viewing portion of practice today. #BYU#BYUfootball
When asked Chinonso Opara, the Juan Diego DL who signed at BYU, Sitake said he couldn't comment on the specifics of his situation but: "Chinonso is a good kid. I don’t control a lot of admissions and stuff like that.” #BYU
Here's my post-practice report from #BYU fall camp, where Kalani Sitake says he'd like to name a starting quarterback next Monday ahead of #BYUfootball's season-opener at Arizona but wouldn't commit to a specific timeline. https://t.co/VERdZDKJ0R

All BYU newcomers can grant interviews in next media availability session, which is Wednesday. BYU has lightened up on Bronco Mendenhall's old rule the past few years, allowing guys such as Matt Bushman and Zach Wilson to talk well before first game. Get ready, Gunner Romney.
Of course, Gunner Romney has been limited by a minor injury in BYU camp and might not be available. Beau Hoge is also nursing an undisclosed injury and hasn't participated in contact stuff since middle of last week.
Sitake said today that cornerback Trevion Greene is likely out long-term with an injury (knee) and linebacker-turned-fullback Johnny "Ku-J" Tapusoa is as well. Both were injured in non-contact drills, he said.
Asked about February BYU signee Chinonso Opara, the Juan Diego product who is now at Weber State, Sitake called Opara a "good kid" and didn't say much else about the situation, except, "I don't control a lot of admissions and stuff like that."
Tanner Mangum got first reps in media viewing portion of team in practice today and looked good, threw a nice pass over the middle to tight end Dallin Holker and thew behind WR Akile Davis, but Davis snared it.
Zach Wilson, Joe Critchlow and Jaren Hall then got reps, in that order. Holker, Davis, Dylan Collie, Inoke Lotulelei and Neil Pau'u made catches in the 11 on 11 stuff. After, Sitake said there wasn't much separation between Mangum and Wilson in scrimmage, after watching film.
It was good to see WR Gunner Romney out running around. He has been out with a minor leg issue. But then he had to do 70-80 up-downs so I bet he is especially feeling it.
TE Dallin Holker continues to be a factor in team drills. Catches everything. Lowered his head/shoulder after turning upfield in 7on7 right into Dayan Ghanwoloku. No tackling in that situation or hitting so the offense can be a little more physical.
Jaren Hall continues to ball out. Threw a few TD’s in 7on7. One to Lopini Katoa on a blown coverage. Zach Wilson looks really comfortable in the pocket and with where he wants to go with the ball. Again, no live tackling so hard to really know at this point but I like what I see.
