Friday's Five Musical Obscurities: German Synth
It's easy to make the argument that Germany is the birthplace of electronic music thanks to Kraftwerk. It persisted as a center through the golden age of synthpop--there has never been a stake dance where they didn't play Alphaville, and Camouflage put out the best Depeche Mode songs this side of, well, Depeche Mode. Here are five less well-known and/or more recent examples:

Endanger: Burn this House Down from the Inside
I don't know anything about Endanger, except that I love this 2014 song.

Peter Schilling: The Different Story
Not only did Peter Schilling sing the best cover song ever that wasn't really a cover, but he also gave us this late 80s gem.

Wolfsheim: Everyone Who Casts a Shadow
Sadly this duo imploded at the peak of their success in the early 2000s. Peter Heppner's unique voice grows on me with each listen.

Cetu Javu: Situations
Can't decide if I like this or "Have In Mind" better.

Beborn Beton: Time to Leave You
An early track from the flag bearers of Germany's ongoing love affair with synth.
