Friends, many of you know that I teach at ECU, which is located about 50 miles from the Atlantic Coast in North Carolina. We are doing all we can to evacuate, prepare, and help others get ready for Florence.

I believe in the power of prayer to God in times of distress. Please, please pray for us here in the Carolinas. Please ask your families to also pray for our protection.

Many in our ward and even more in our stake (which extends all the way to the coast) have evacuated. My family has gone to Ohio with family to be safe. Many others, myself included, are staying to be able to provide aid to those who will remain here.

We are as prepared as we can be I believe. But we would still appreciate your help through prayer.
