I posted this morning and asked for prayers for all of us here in Eastern North Carolina. Thank you to all who are praying for us.

I'm a professor at ECU and live in Greenville, NC. We are about 50 miles from the coast. Things are starting to get pretty crazy here with tremendous wind gusts and continual rainfall.

Many areas in our stake (Morehead City, New Bern) have suffered tremendous flood damage already today and it seems the worst is yet to come in the next 5-10 hours.

There will undoubtedly be thousands who lose their homes and we already have hundreds of thousands without power.

I believe in the power of prayer and I ask you and your families to please pray for us here in the Carolinas tonight. We trust that we have prepared the best we can and have helped many, many evacuate. For those who remain, we have faith the our preparations will help us get through this.

On a personal note, I do not live in a flood zone and do not anticipate water approaching my home. However, the wind gusts of up to 80mph have been seriously intense and I anticipate losing power and probably lots of shingles from my roof overnight.
