I admit I didn't play more than 1 year of football, but coaches are essentially management which should have systems in place to run practice at the intensity they want and need.
Then as a leader (coach), you are there ensuring practice is being run to your standards. If it isn't, you step in and fix it.
This is something I just can't get my head around. In the Army we'd call this, "Training to standard, not training for time".
Am I missing something here?
