His first official LES experience. Bought him a royal blue hat on the way down. Sat in a crowded section in the shade with knees in our backs for the 1st half, then moved up to where nobody was sitting above the student section. He had a lot more fun over there with more room and the students energy and cheers. Got him a Nathan's hot dog and a cougar tail. First and last Cougar tail I'll ever buy. It's an oversized maple bar. That's it, nothing more.
Good to see Wilson get in the game. As expected he looked very, very young, and made me appreciate Mangum's age and experience. Watching Mangum manage the run game live you can really see his value. He makes great decisions and hides the ball well on his read handoffs. Even I would get caught watching the wrong player while the ball was on the other side of the field.
During a timeout Cosmo did a back flip and lost his head. I don't know how I move on from this after seeing it was just some college kid with dark hair. My kid never looked at him the same.
All in all We had fun.
Lastly, and I know this draws a lot of controversy, but the lowest ticket at the ticket office was $25. That's $75 bones for a family of three. I can imagine a family of 5 or 6 or more that's $150-$200. People wonder why it's not full? It's obvious. Looking around at our demographic there are a lot of large families many who are just getting by month to month. Finances are tight for many people. It costs so much just to live in the wasatch front right now, whether it's a home or renting, etc...I think many of these families simply can't afford to drop $300 on tickets and food to watch a game like McNeese St. They can pick one or two a year at most.
I thought for sure I'd see scalpers giving tickets away for $10. Nope. Saw just two scalpers selling $25 tickets.
I'm not trying to be cheap. I'm just being honest in my assessment.
Go Cougs.
