Incomplete passes for Tanner yesterday.
1. Drop by Romney. Broken up by defender but should have been caught
2. Pass down the L side to MLP. Well covered, but a little overthrown. Should have given MLP a chance to catch it over the smaller defender, or get a PI.
3. Screen pass, well defended, Passrusher in face, essentially throw away.
4. 3rd and 5, Blitz. Escapes pressure, Has Milne open, then broken up at the line. Didn't look like his first read was open before having to escape pressure.
5. Deep Ball to Milne. Doesn't look like it was open, but Tanner buys time, and essentially throws it away. Doesn't try to force it to a well covered Milne between 2 defenders.
6. Good pass to MLP at the goalline. Defended well, but maybe should have been caught.
7. Play action, Rolling to the L. Air mailed it about 4 feet over Hifo's head. Well covered, would have been a really tough throw and catch, but Mangum hasn't been very good to his L this year.
8. Blatant drop for a TD by Squally.
9. After a turnover. Deep ball to Simon. Well covered. Not really much chance at a completion. Avoids pressure to get the ball away.
10. Play action, rolling to the left. Short arms it and skips it to an open Hifo. Again, rolling to the left.

All in all I didn't see that poorly of a played game by Mangum by reviewing all his incompetions. Maybe 3 bad throws (4 if you include the tipped ball). 2-3 drops (depending on if you consider the MLP a drop, but the throw was on the money) 3-4 plays that were just well defended, and nothing he could do. Only thing is, stop designing long passes rolling to his left. If you need to keep the defense honest, then have a tight end roll out there with him so its an easy toss on a play action. He can't throw 15-20 yards down the field rolling to the L, or at least he hasn't shown that ability yet.

Offense had short fields and the run was working. Many of Tanners completions were short, but most of that was by design and moved the sticks. Tanner did have some pretty good throws down field as well, mostly when moving and passing to the R side. Bushman and Pau'u come to mind, but I didn't review all the completions.
