and what will we do when RBs continue to miss blocks, fumble, and take bad lanes? What will we do when OL
continue to make mental errors and expose the gaps? miss blocks? get false start penalties, holds, etc? What will we do when WR continue to make minimal effort? don't run crisp routes? can't find their way out of a wet paper bag? oh, and most important, DON'T CATCH THE BALL!!!
Tanner has made mistakes, everyone does, but the problem is that everyone believe throwing a freshman into the mix of all those errors made by other positions will make him look better.
USU was playing their 2nd and 3rd string against Wilson. He wasn't playing the same DL or LBs. USU wasn't still crashing the line.
So, I'm game to see what happens though, maybe the kid will spark a little fire. But my experience with small sparks and wet wood (which is all you can call the other 10 players right now) is more often than not, they flame out, they don't turn into Pole Canyon.
This isn't a team of dry brush waiting for an offensive leader to make them explode with new success for 6 games. He might be dry, but the rest of them have been just as bad, just as lackadaisical, and have made just as many mental mistakes as Tanner.
