I'm not one to watch kids HS highlights and get too excited about kids coming into the program. I save that for my CB brothers to provide updates about the bright future of the program.....

While sitting around waiting for the game today and looking forward to the Zach Wilson era of BYU football, I decided to look at Tanner's and Zach's HS highlights. Man Tanner Mangum could SLING IT! No wonder the Cougar Nation was excited for him to be the QB to bring us back to glory. All the potential in the world and he performed his freshman year. Then injuries kicked his butt.

It is very obvious that his throwing motion is just not the same. He used to be able to use his arm to generate velocity. Now it looks like he has to use the entire right side of his body to throw the ball. He had some mobility too. Now it looks like he is running in walking boots. Man I feel badly for Tanner. I'm sure he still believes he has it in him to make the throws but it just isn't there anymore. Next man up.

However, CB needs to stop piling on Tanner. He gave everything that he had for BYU football and has nothing left to give. He should be remembered as the guy that beat Nebraska and Boise St. and not the broken QB that he is today.
