2002 Western Conf Finals did it for me. Haven’t followed closely since.
Particularly game 6. From then on, for me the NBA was closer to WWE-like athletic performance than it was true competition. I do think the fallout from that along with other subsequent incidents like the Donaghy scandal has forced the NBA to take its finger off the scales a bit, but since then I just never cared enough to have more than a passing interest.
