The year is 2024 and conference realignment has not gone well for BYU. However, in the state of Utah it is an era of good feelings. Donovan Mitchell is coming off his third MVP and teammate Kevin Durant has won his 5th finals MVP. In an effort to capitalize on the mood and overcome BYU's football difficulties, Senators Romney (R, Utah) and Romney (R, Utah) along with Representatives Romney (R, Utah) and Romney (?, Utah) work with Governor Romney (R, Utah) to unify the state under one flagship football program.

The deal:
1. BYU shuts down its football program.

2. The University of Utah adopts BYU's colors and uniforms with the exception that wherever there is now a Y a U will be put in place.

3. The University of Utah admits to willfully clinging to an outdated nickname and adopts the name of "Runnin' Cougars" with Cosmo kicking Swoop to the curb.

4. Whoever the starting quarterback is must wear #15 in memory of Max Hall.

5. Church leadership puts out an official statement acknowledging the University of Utah as "The Lord's Community College"

6. The coaching staff would be:

Head Coach: Andy Reid
Offensive Coordinator: Mike Leach
QB Coach: Mannequin LaVell
RB Coach: Jamaal Williams
Defensive Coordinator: Kyle Whittingham

7. Whittingham would be required by contract to coach in black leather pants. Every time the defense makes a stop or a play Mike Leach must slap him on the rear and say "Way to be coach".

8. The Utah State football program would be shut down.
