even remember on a Monday who we had played over the weekend, some random directional school from the east or south type team. Several times I had to look on a Saturday morning to see who we played THAT DAY. Indy, and lack of consistent conference foes is less interesting overall. Would I rather play Air Force and Wyoming and UNLV year in and year out vs a lot of the no-names we play now? 100% yes. And frankly I liked playing for a conference championship, its more meaningful than playing just to win games.
Beyond that........BORING football. Passive. Not creative. Low scoring. All that adds up to a product that is less interesting than it used to be, by a wide margin.
Kalani. Watching the BYU basketball game on tv last night they announced he would be joining the show at halftime. My first thought was immediately to turn off the halftime show, I had no interest in listening to him talk about how they need to get back to playing BYU football or the other platitudes because I have no confidence in him to get it done. Now, I think he personally is a great guy, likeable, but I turned off the halftime show because I just cant stomach listening to him anymore.
I imagine I'll always be a BYUfan, I still tune in or watch most of the games, and pay way more attention to BYU than other teams but the product on the field, especially being indy, isnt as fun or interesting to me.
