There should be a balance as there will be times where family and friends miss

the signals, but society can do better in educating us about the signals and in decreasing the stressors that increase the likelihood.

One of the things is the media can and should refrain from publishing details of celebrity suicides, because research shows that there is an uptick in suicides using those methods publicized. And if somebody commits suicide, internal inspection is normal but it can be taken to unhealthy levels. I'm not encouraging people to beat themselves up repeatedly.
