I am a pretty cheap/frugal guy. But holy crap, you guys are cheapskates.
$10/hour is the going rate for babysitting in our area. Babies or any house cleaning would up that.

Probably $2 per hour per kid. So $36, next time I’d find a family member or

Normally do but it was an adult family get together
P-Boy Squad

That makes sense. I think the going rate for babysitters is ridiculous so I

This isn't hard people, ask the babysitter what they charge and pay that
CSoul

In your experience does that come in higher or lower than you expect?
bluecougar1985
12/8/18 9:10am
It's almost always lower than what many here say they pay
CSoul
12/8/18 9:18am
Yeah, I thought it would be lower, and closer to what it should be.

That's ridiculous, the kids that do aerating are that age. You don't randomly

Maybe i always figured that a 14 year old girl doesnt have that much savvy to one know
P-Boy Squad

Never had an issue. I assume they just ask their parent if they don't know.

This, up to $6/hour. No sense paying them minimum wage for a job usually done

Are you saying it caps at $6 per hour? I was telling my wife I was good with

I usually cap at $6, but if the kids are sleeping, I think you're fine. It also

This seems much more reasonable than breaking the bank for one night.

My wife said that you should pay 8-10 an hour. So $48-60.

Especially if they are a good babysitter and you want them back.

Are we in Utah or not?
Jacare

People outside of Utah almost never hire 12-14 year olds. It's a whole different

This seems as reasonable as Seattle’s $15 per hour minimum wage.
bluecougar1985

Totally agree. Minimum wage is $9. 3 kids that age worth more than min wage

Babysitting supply doesn't work that way. Their available time has to match

I usually don’t offer compensation but make sure to remind the sitter that it’s a service opportunity

With 5 kids we usually hire 2 babysitters (siblings)

I asked my wife and she said $15/hour and then her jaw dropped when she saw the results.

I really struggle to understand how this is cheap when any other job available

Going on dates is great, but it’s not a right, and you shouldn’t rip off teenage girls to do it

What other jobs are available to a young teen? If under 16. Nothing. If 16 they
