More I think about it, the less I like it — just not much there to like. Not as good as Rogue One IMO.

I thought the main actor was generally fine, but the love interest was kind of lame. Donald Glover was fine but sometimes seemed trying a bit too hard to sound like Billy Dee Williams. His droid was entertaining but giving her giant hips was kind of weird.

Woody Harrelson was the best part IMO. Paul Bettany was fine but not given much to do. Wish he'd make something more interesting than mediocre Star Wars and Avengers movies. Margin Call was probably the last of his movies that I liked.

Effects were great but there were times that the refusal to give expansive establishing shots felt like more like a budget issue than a stylistic choice. Kind of lame for a Star Wars movie. None of the planets or locations really felt like a lived-in place.

Whole thing felt really unnecessary. It wasn't bad, but it didn't make a good case for its own existence. Someone at Disney needs to realize that part of what makes fantasy worlds feel real and interesting is not filling in every single gap. It's mildly entertaining to see how Han and Chewbacca met and how Han became such a cynic, but on the whole I'd much rather see a wholly new story. They have an entire universe to expand to wherever they want, but they keep going back and filling in gaps better left alone. I don't care about a love interest who I know totally fades from the picture soon. Etc.
