I think the GLS still has more off road cred... which isn't saying much since it is hardly Moab bound. But both still offer some decent tech for their "off roading".

GLS is the same platform as the WK2 grand Cherokee, I can't remember if the current gls has a low range.

Yeah, GLS can have the two-speed which is why I don't think BMW matched its capabilities.
