The Air Force Base football team where I'm stationed played #14 Texas in Cotton
Bowl back in 1943, ending in a 7-7 tie. Randolph AFB (then known as Randolph Field). I was walking out of the gym yesterday when I noticed the football and plaque.
That's kind of crazy they were in the Cotton Bowl, but I guess there were some good players getting drafted into the service and they had to be stationed somewhere. Sounds a lot better than invading Italy with Patton.
