Hurts could do well at Bama because he had a great running game and receivers that kept teams from keying up on his running game. At BYU he would have a very hard time passing to mediocre to bad receivers without an amazing offensive line and run game.
On the flip side Wilson is a precision passer. He is able to throw guys open and be accurate enough to fit throws in tight spaces. His timing is good which leads to lots of YAC. He has enough mobility and athleticism to escape the pocket and be a threat as a passer and a runner. BYU needs a good passer to stretch the field and hit guys.
