I understand mixing up rules between leagues (NFL/NCAA) such as 1 vs 2 feet

in bounds, but what is rediculous is when someone totally doesn't understand a very key rule. I've officiated before, and understand the difficulty. I also now see some of the reason why a ref might miss a call, or sometimes the reason for a delayed whistle. When I first started dating my wife, we were watching a game with her family and there were a few calls that I thought "I can see why they called that". My wife (nor her family) appreciated me being apologetic to the refs though:p

One thing about having officiated before (any sport) you learn to watch the entire game, not just the ball. Alot of times when watching the game with my or her family I say "gosh danget, push in the back!" or something similar to that. They just aren't used to watching the entire game.

I still yell at the ref's plenty because sometimes they SUCK!!!
