had a comparable amount of debt. My wife started us on Dave Ramsey several years prior. It took us about 6 years from starting in earnest. We had a lot of unexpected medical bills that came are way that dragged it out. We passed up on a lot of fun stuff during those years, but it was worth it. It is very nice not having to give all that money to someone else.
