I was walking in downtown Seattle where I often get somebody flagging me down to ask for some sort of donation. Today it was a guy peddling his music looking for a donation so he can afford the $4500 cost to get it produced.

Like usual, I told him I don’t have any cash on me. He said “oh no problem, I’m up with the times,” and pulled out his phone with a Square card reader in it. I then had to actually tell him I’m not interested in giving him money. I guess I have to be more forthcoming next time.
