A thought about the O-line coach vacancy
I will admit that this is a complete arm-chair-fan view of things, but I thought that the o-line was really inconsistent this year. The games we lost had much to do with the o-line allowing penetration/tackles for loss/sacks. In my mind I wondered if part of the problem wasn't a young coach not being prepared or having the linemen prepared for new looks from these defenses. I also wondered if Grimes/Pugh weren't much better at coaching run blocking than pass protection. I fully recognize that I don't know enough to identify the problems with much accuracy.

Next year I think the offense will be (should be) more pass heavy. Having said that, I wonder if we should be looking for an O-line coach who has a real sense of how to pass protect, pick up blitzes and stunts etc.. Maybe Reynolds would be a good fit for that given his experience, but I hope they open up the applications and really take a good look at all applicants.

In the end, it may require Grimes to take more of a role in coaching that o-line.
