Regarding education
The other day there was some discussion about the pursuit of education and if it is a waste of $$$
First off. a Yewt education is, by definition, a waste of $$$.

It's hard to see, but on the graph, there is a tiny bright red dot at the U of U. Sad, but true.

Aside from that, here is what I dug up:

It looks to me like there is still value in higher education. The data would suggest that, on average, a college degree will yield better pay (on avg) than a trade school (on avg).

I am not pushing education. I personally don't care if CB agrees with the data or not. This is simply what I found. The ability to get employed and stay employed also appears to have a positive correlation with higher education.

Some things to consider is first, the data. It will likely be somewhat skewed by the agenda of the person(s) publishing it. Take it all with a grain of salt.
Second, some trades are far better than others. If you go to trade school don't be a massage therapist or a beautician. Rather, shoot for a developer or a elevator repair person.
Third, DO NOT OVERPAY FOR YOUR EDUCATION. I cannot stress this enough. Most of the models and data that I have seen are basing their models off of an avg undergrad debt of about $127,000. If you pay that much then your chances of getting a reasonable ROI are handicapped. Get you BA/BS through the most affordable means possible. (The avg trade school cost is about $33k IIRC, you can get a BA/BS at UVU for 2500/semester. At 8 semesters the cost is about 20K. So, cheaper than the avg trade school.)

Some of the infographics show that 5 and 10 year wage projections between trade school and higher education are about the same. So, again, be sure not to spend too much on whichever route you choose to go.

There you go CB. have a good weekend.
