That's right. I wasn't watching but saw the play and checked the score at the
time. But you're right that the Saints would have been given a 1st down and the opportunity to waste the clock. As it was the non-call was on 3rd down and forced them to kick the FG immediately. I didn't process the situation on downs. Thx.

Nope. Peyton said he was going to take knees to run out clock so that last play would be winning field goal.
