point. Per that article they state that there is 1.3B active devices. When that number starts to go down that could be more concerning. Most of the people I know (anecdotal I know) that aren't upgrading because of cost have decided to make the current phone last longer rather than replace with a cheaper device. So when they start replacing them I will be interested to see if they go a cheaper device route or just lengthen the phone life and stick with Apple on a 2 or 3 year cycle instead of 1 or 2 year cycle.
Until active users start to dip, I don't think Apple is to worried (revenue is still growing). But Apple will always maintain itself as a higher priced/higher quality device manufacturer so it will be interesting to see how much they are willing/able to pivot when they see revenue decrease/flatten.
