We used to get foreign players and had coaches with foreign connections and JC’s (transfers) around the country. Now we have a bunch of locals that know Utah County and extended areas up to Pocatello and Boise (Interstate 15 corridor). Not where you’re generally going to find kids that can compete on a National Level very often. And Coaches with little to no College coaching experience whatsoever prior to hiring on with BYU. Shroyer being the only exception pretty much. Combine those factors and you get what you see on the court the last four years. Mediocrity! Win 20 games against mainly low level competition!
