I am sure the bad burgers were isolated incidents because both of the places are still open, and they wouldn't survive if they hadn't improved.
My dad grew up in Hyrum as did all of my cousins. Spent a lot of time there visiting cousins. My aunt owned Glauser's restaurant in downtown Logan, so we ate there if we ate anywhere. I think a couple of my cousins ran it for a while, but not sure when it closed down. Apparently my one cousin made pretty good cinnamon rolls...at least that was how the family told it. I also remember driving all the way to the north side of Logan on state street to get spudnuts. As a kid, we thought it was a legendary place. Probably closed about the same time as Glauser's. I remember as a teenager, "cruisin main" with my cousins and that Spudnut place was the turnaround point.
As a kid I loved A&W even though I didn't ever like rootbeer. I always got a lot of strange looks when I asked for an orange float. The bad burger I had was around 15 years ago in Chantilly VA - my kid loved some of the deep fried cheese or something and it was a daddy daughter night. The burger was almost a black crunchy toast. Oh, the bad food memories of daddy dates. Is Cece's pizza still around? Is it as bad as it was 15 years ago? It was low cost for sure tho, so not all bad.
