of the Church. A music professor at BYU, who had gone almost literally door to door in the dorms and other places begging men to join his newly reconstituted men's chorus into being one of the most respected and sought out choral arrangers in the entire world, leading the most famous choir in the world is one of the great stories of our Church.
If he had done nothing else (and of course has done much much more) this arrangement alone would have secured him in a very special place in my heart.
I did not hear that live, but I saw this recording soon after in a special meeting- and was blown away by the performance and the new sound. We take Mack for granted now, but when this burst on the scene in the early 90s, it overwhelmed me and still can bring a tear to my eye. Fantastic.
