But I do know that probably a similar % of drug companies profit come from cost/distribution of those medications in the US where the market is large and pays substantially more than anywhere else.

So if you don't have a "medication" that can be used by Americans, chances are no one will fund it or care.

And there has been a synthetic form of THC (marrinol) on the market for years.
