He was out snowmobiling with his dad and siblings and an avalanche was triggered. He died, along with 2-3 siblings and his dad. I believe one or two of his siblings survived. I was in the 2nd grade.

I’ve also know other who have died from avalanches, all while snowmobiling since then.
