The original question was if BYU could have recruited someone they didn’t recruit who should it be. BYU recruited Te’o hard. They rolled out the red carpet for him and made him a high priority for over a year. He was always going to USC or ND, and then Bronco “pulled” the offer but that’s not why he didn’t come to BYU. And I suspect that if he had called Bronco and said he wanted to come to BYU that they would have reinstated the offer.
