Being an actor on hour long drama is actually pretty grueling.
The work 12-16 hour days during the season and basically don't get to go home for several months. There's a reason most people get burnt out doing these shows for multiple seasons.
They do get paid well. But they make their buck most often and get out of the game for a bit.
