Amazing kid; so proud of him; been his goal for so many years.
Congrats to those with kids who were accepted; I’m sorry to those with kids who weren’t. I feel sad when I read the stories of some kids that were rejected and to imagine how frustrated they must feel after all the work they put into it.
Tough situation for all involved (parents, students, admissions office), but definitely makes me worry for my younger five kids. I’m going to remind them tomorrow that the admission criteria for BYU is unpredictable and if they are fortunate enough to make it, they should be grateful and humble. And if they don’t make it, it’s not necessarily a reflection of their effort, talent, or worthiness. Sometimes life just works out like that and they need to move forward with optimism as many on here have shared.
