Sorry, but BYU-I doesn't need sports to be taken seriously by people in general and LDS students. Being the sports nuts that most of us are on CB, we take this matter a bit too seriously in my opinion. BYU-I has growing pains and will always lag behind BYU in prestige. But having a sports program isn't the fix.
In reality there is nothing really that wrong with it. BYU-I is growing like crazy and its academic programs are steadily improving. Rexburg isn't the most happening place on the planet, but guess what, for most people Provo isn't either. The main problem with Rexburg is the cold. But for the most part life revolves around campus and wards in both locations.
